විමල් ජයශාන්ත (Wimal Jayashantha)

As per Veteran Musician and Singer Sanath Nandasiri, this song writer Mr. Wimal Jayashantha came to meet him about 30-35 years ago with two songs. After reading Mr. Nanadasiri had selected one of them. On querying the back ground Mr. Wimal had exposed that this song was based on his life experience. According to Mr. Nandasiri this composer was working in the General Post Office - Colombo in a rank of Post Master. This was his first and the last song. He never wrote any other songs thereafter. Mr. Nandasiri further stated that Mr. Jayashantha is no more and passed away. This song can be considered as a Master piece in Sinhala song writting but had not received the place which it deserves up to now.
